downstairs from the bijules showing was an art exhibit going on called make love war by little marvin. very cool and interactive, marvin had his hearts beautifully mounted and framed. (more…)

as i mentioned in a previous post, iconic street artist shepard fairey opened an exhibit at the ICA in boston this past friday. i had a press pass, but i waited too long to look for flights and i didn’t want to drive down there. it seems like i may have missed something because i heard from friends it was a wonderful exhibit. i digress…
apparently he was arrested hours before the exhibit on old warrants that were pending in boston from years ago that he was not aware of. he was only detained for a few hours and it seems he made it out on time for the exhibit.
the event was sponsored by levi’s. as we know big corporations endorse certain artists that they feel add relevancy to their brand.
another interesting tidbit i learned about fairey is that on one occasion he rigged a xerox machine at a kinko’s for free prints, and it was only making copies in black and red, a consistent theme in his artwork that he stuck to.
